Enfant Retour - Canadian National Television Ad
I did a double internship at Campus Ubisoft during my last semester. I was a technical director for the video game, a Half-Life 2 Mod, Nuee des Diables. I was also a Technical Director of the Canadian National Television Ad to lead of the "Enfant Retour" campaign. The campaign was to make aware to the public of missing children and to pay attention and really watch the children so they don't disappear (i.e. kidnapped.) The leader of the project approached me and asked for me to help out rig some characters and help the define the pipeline. I modeled the female character that is producing the shadow at the beginning. I procedurally rigged the bed have the breathing effect be a function of time. All the animator had to do slide two sliders, one for the height of the breathing, the other is the frequency. This saved hours keyframing and tweaking by hand. I also accessed the topology of the mesh of the model of the female pirate night-light (the one that has volumetric lights coming out of her eyes.) I rigged the night-light and created a facial GUI all with shapes objects. The project was done in 3ds Max. At the end, when the night-light pop out of the screen onto the white background through a hole, I composited the 3d -elements with the ending information. Compositing was done in Adobe After Effects.
